BUTTERMILK PIE

Buttermilk Pie has earned the Best Party Dessert Award for this year. It's simple to produce, the filling is luxuriously sweet and fluffy on the inside with a mildly crackled sugar top, and while being an old-fashioned Southern recipe, it doesn't earn the popularity it merits.

If you've never had a southern buttermilk pie, you should run to the kitchen and bake this recipe to learn what it is like. It looks small, but every bite is incredible! The filling is soft and has a rich, buttery flavor that complements the flaky crust it is served on.

Buttermilk pie tastes close to -crème brûlée-. It's soft, creamy, and buttery. In reality, fans of the glossy “lid” on top of crème brûlée would also be fascinated to see the buttermilk pie forms a crackly top as well.
