COWBOY CASSEROLE


 


This quick and cheesy cowboy casserole recipe is important for busy nights and will be enjoyed by many. A hearty casserole of ground beef, carrots, cauliflower, squash, and cheddar cheese. You can also use ground turkey or ground chicken instead of ground beef.

Cowboy potatoes is a recipe that is influenced by other recipes including cowboy casserole: baked potatoes and veggies. This meal is simple and fast to prepare. Everybody likes it. I have done it on the trail while I was riding horses, uhhh, I'm just kidding!!!. It is a family recipe that I grew up with. 


INGREDIENTS FOR COWBOY-STYLE BAKED CASSEROLE: 


- 850 gr.Of lean ground beef.

- 3 garlic cloves, minced.

- 2 Cups.Of frozen corn thawed.

- 2 Cup.Of grated cheddar cheese.

- 1 medium onion, minced.

- 1 large can.Of diced tomatoes, I used 14-oz can. 

- 1 Cup.Of light sour cream.

- 1 Tsp.Of salt.

- 1 Tsp.Of pepper.

- 26-oz Of tater tots.


DIRECTIONS:


First Step - Turn the oven to 425 degrees. 


Second Step – In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, cook the lean ground beef until just little pink remains. 


Third Step - Apply the onion and garlic to the pan and continue cooking for another five minutes. 


Fourth step - Using a utensil, combine the tomatoes and sour cream into the beef. Season it with salt and pepper. 


Fifth step - Onto a 9.11-inch casserole dish, pour the creamy beef. Second, put the kernels of corn on top, then put the cheese on top, then place the potato crisps in a single row on the ground. 


Last Step - Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the tater tots are crispy and brown on the outside.


VARIATIONS AND SUBSTITUTIONS:


One of the best advantages of this recipe is that you can adapt it to fit the preferences of your family. Mmmm, cheese! Add even more handfuls. Not a lover of tomatoes? Do not include the can of tomatoes. This is a very basic recipe that can be adjusted to fit your own preferences. Be creative!!
